Whether you’re flying in from afar or travelling more local, we can’t wait to welcome you to Edinburgh.

With Castles, cobblestones, cows and cracking whisky, there are no shortages of places to stay - here are just a few suggestions to get you started.

Where to Stay

Edinburgh

If you plan to make a trip of things - we would recommend staying closer to the city centre, for doorstep access to the sights and sounds.

Air BnB | Air BnB is a great option for groups of all sizes. There are plenty of options in all areas of the city, from The Royal Mile to leafy Stockbridge - offering a great place to crash after a day exploring Edinburgh and afar.

Premier Inn | From £165 a night
Various Locations
York Place & Royal Mile are both great options, but there are a number of locations scattered across the city.

The Caledonian Edinburgh | From £440 a night
City Centre

VOCO by IHG | From £245 a night
West End

Hampton by Hilton | From £235 a night
West End

Balerno

If you’re swinging by for a quick trip, there are a few places closer to The Free Company that we’d suggest.

Dalmahoy Hotel | From £230 a night
Balerno

The Free Company Farmhouse | Air BnB
Located on the far side of the farm, The Free Company has a large farmhouse for rent, which is a 5 minute drive from the venue. If you’d like to join in on a larger group booking, the farmhouse can sleep up to 14 guests, with a 3-night minimum.

Getting Here

Flying

You can Fly into Edinburgh or Glasgow - both airports are on the outskirts of their respective cities, and allow easy access to motorways, etc for travel. There are often direct flight paths from Canada to either airport, through WestJet, Air Canada and Air Transat.

WestJet
Calgary - Edinburgh / Toronto - Edinburgh / Halifax - Edinburgh

Air Canada
Toronto - Edinburgh

Air Transat
Toronto - Glasgow

Edinburgh has a great Tram network connecting the airport to the city centre in 20 minutes.

Glasgow airport is about 60 minutes drive from Edinburgh, and there are also bus options available if you don’t fancy driving on the right side of the road (says the groom).

Getting Around

Uber, trams, trains and taxis service Edinburgh well, and you’ll have options for parking as well if you hire a car.

Getting to the Venue

Travel by Car

The Free Company has parking available for up to 50 vehicles, including designated disabled spaces with direct access to their paved areas. If you plan to drive, you are welcome to leave your car overnight, but we do ask that you pick your car up by 11:00 a.m. the following day, as there may be other events setting up, as well as their regular service for the restaurant.

Taxis

If you’re looking to travel by taxi to and from the venue, we recommend using either Edinburgh City Cabs or Capital Cars for return journeys. They regularly provide pickups from the farm and can be pre-booked online, via their app, or by phone.

Uber

While Uber is a great option for getting around the city, and they drop off at The Free Company, they do not operate pickups quite this far out of the city - so we would suggest pre-booking a taxi for your return pickup.
